At least 27 Christians were killed in attacks over the past day in Plateau State, Nigeria, according to reports cited by CBN News from Truth Nigeria and International Christian Concern (ICC). Those accounts describe nighttime raids on villages that left families, including children, among the dead.
Night raids and claims of no intervention
CBN News interviewed Truth Nigeria reporter Masara Kim, who said the attacks show the perpetrators’ intent. “This highlights the intentions, the motivations of these terrorists. It is to wipe out the entirety of Christianity in Nigeria. This is not about climate change, and this is not about farmer-herder clashes… This is clear religious and ethnic targeting,” Kim said.
CBN’s account references at least 27 deaths in two villages, Rim and Mangu, where attackers allegedly operated for hours. Kim alleged that nearby military forces “did nothing” to intervene. “What offense did they commit? Absolutely nothing,” he said.
Kim also voiced concern for his own safety because of his reporting. “What this means is that as long as I bear the name of… the identity of Christ, I will eventually be killed… And so it is better for me, it is more profiting for me to die while speaking out you know for these people.”
Separate incident: ICC cites 24 killed
International Christian Concern stated that at least 24 Christians were killed in a separate attack this week on the Bin Mper community in Plateau State.
