The Coming Kingdom: What Christians Should Expect

The Bible speaks of a future Kingdom where Christ will reign in perfect justice and peace. Revelation 21:4 tells us that in this Kingdom, “there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” As Christians, this promise fills us with hope and anticipation for what is to come.

One of the key aspects of the coming Kingdom is that Christ will reign as King. In Revelation 19:16, Jesus is described as “King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” This means that all earthly powers and authorities will submit to His rule, and His reign will be marked by righteousness and truth.

The Kingdom of God will also be a place of perfect restoration. In Acts 3:21, Peter speaks of the “time for God to restore everything,” which includes not only the healing of individual lives but also the restoration of creation itself. Romans 8:21 tells us that creation “will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

For Christians, this future Kingdom is not just a distant hope but a reality that impacts how we live today. Jesus teaches us to pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). This means that as we await Christ’s return, we are called to live as ambassadors of His Kingdom, reflecting its values of love, peace, and justice.
